- Children, selected by the program director, read ½ hour with a volunteer twice weekly.
- Volunteers are recruited from the community program.
- All reading is one-to-one.
- All materials are provided by VRP and the Community Centre.
- Volunteer training and a Police Reference Check are mandatory.
- When children achieve grade level reading skills, they graduate from VRP.
- All VRP children receive a certificate and gift of a book at the end of the school year.
