VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Weekly and biweekly volunteers are needed to fill openings at several schools.  The most in need are Bridlewood and Highland Heights with only 1 reader at each school.  Both schools are near Birchmount and Sheppard and about 20-30 minutes from Yonge and 401.  Please invite as many people as you can to join VRP so we can help as many little readers as possible!

WHO IS MY SCHOOL COORDINATOR?

VRP is very lucky to have School Coordinators at a number of our schools!  These volunteers are the eyes and ears of VRP at the school each week so they can help you with most of your questions.

SCHEDULES UP

Each term the Volunteer Schedules are confirmed, emailed to the group then they are posted HERE on the Volunteer Side of the website.  Please note these are not updated if holidays/other substitutions are made over the term.  Rather they are a reference for dates and contact information.  Remember to ask your fellow volunteers and School Coordinators if you need to find a substitute.

START DATES

We are thrilled that several schools are starting next week!  The majority will begin the week of October 7 and a few have asked for us to start following Thanksgiving.  If you are a new volunteer we will get you to have a school visit before your first reading day.  Please keep in touch and tell Kristina as soon as your VSS CLEAR is received.

TRAINING WORKSHOP

We are too late to submit to the Emmy’s but maybe we will get a You Tube award for the most views??  The Fall 2024 VRP Training Workshops will be going up next week.  If you did not RSVP or attend please make a point of watching before your first reading day as it contains new and important information for all volunteers.  Please grab your VRP Training Manual and enjoy the show!
