SPRING TERM SCHEDULES

A great big THANK YOU to our School Coordinators: Carolyn Kinzie (CH), Ashley Symons (EB), Helen Foss-Pollock (FL), Amie Nielsen (FR) Amanda Skinner (GA), Judy Moncik (GO), Kendall Franklin (JE), Christine Arjoonal (LA), Kelli Donnelly (BR), Krystyna Stoic (MA), Nancy Ackerman (MT), Mary Neumann (OG), Garry Beirne (PA), Kathy Frame-Adshead (RAN), Marjie Calla (RAW) for all their work updating their Spring Term Schedules!   HUGE WELCOME TO NEW SCs Kimberly Naipaul (GC) and Judy Andersen (GL)!  Spring is also a good time to review materials, freshen books and generally tidy up the VRP space.  Thank you to all of the volunteers who make a point of keeping the books and VRP organized at the schools.  The Spring Term Schedules will be uploaded to the website by March Break.

SCHOOL COORDINATORS NEEDED

There are several schools in need of a School Coordinator.  Please read the SC Guideline and if you would like to help please let Kristina know right away.  Many of our schools are close together so if a volunteer was feeling especially keen they could easily act as SC for 2 schools. 

PHONOLOGICAL AWARENESS HANDBOOK

As promised a compact guidebook about phonological awareness was uploaded for you this week.  As stated in its introduction this guide contains explanations regarding what phonological awareness is and why it is important for reading success. It also covers the different components of phonological awareness and is filled with multiple activity ideas as well as printable and external exercises.  Thank you again to Suzanne Martin (YO) for sharing her cousin’s excellent work!
