PRINCIPAL NOTE

A special note came from Ranchdale Principal George Bartzis in December:

MORE BOB BOOKS

In the coming weeks Kristina will visit schools to drop off Bob Books, Series 3 Word Families!  Thank you to 100 Who Care for making it possible for VRP to purchase these new resources.  If there are any special requests for other supplies please let Kristina know right away.  For example: she knows that Grenoble needs dry erasers and McGregor needs new white boards. 

FRIENDLY REMINDER

While it is excellent for volunteers to be comfortable in the schools it is important for VRP volunteers to keep interactions with teachers to a minimum.  Volunteers should not walk into classrooms rather wait at the door for the little reader to walk to the session together.  The beginning of a new term is a good time to revisit the VRP Volunteer Training Manual to review and refresh on important policies and procedures.

ACHOO!

Remember germs are flying this time of year so make sure you avoid the January sniffles by handling books carefully, washing hands often, using provided hand sanitizer when needed and make sure you don’t touch your face (especially eyes, nose and mouth).  Please stay healthy!  And if you are under the weather please remember to let your fellow readers know that you won’t be at the school that day.
